Help
Access, connections and what to do when one fails.
Everything you need to connect an agent and keep it connected. Setup for each agent is on the Connections page.
Getting access
Not open for public signup. Plans, the 14-day trial and checkout described here are the intended launch offer and cannot be purchased or started yet. Access today is limited to existing authorised users on a brand allowlist.
There is no self-service workspace creation today: signing in with Google does not create a workspace. Access is granted by an existing administrator adding your account to an existing brand allowlist. Studio owners invite editors from workspace settings once a workspace exists.
If sign-in succeeds but no brand appears, your account is authenticated but not verified as an editor on any brand. That is an allowlist entry, not a password problem: no change to your own credentials will grant access. Ask an existing administrator to add you, then sign in again.
Already authorised? Sign in. Want to look first? Explore the example.
CONNECTING AN AGENT
The same four steps for every agent
OpenClaw is shown below. Hermes, Claude and ChatGPT differ only in step 3.
- 01Create a brand profile. Name, typography, colours and page furniture. Every export from the brand uses it.
- 02Issue a connection token. One per brand, from workspace settings. Never put it in a shared document, screenshot or public message.
- 03Install the connector. A skill for OpenClaw and Hermes, an MCP connector for Claude, a GPT action for ChatGPT.
- 04Run the token check. It confirms the brand and scope before the first document is written.
$ openclaw skill install docgent
$ docgent token check
✓ brand: fieldnotes · scope: documents:writeThe API
Every connector uses the same REST API: create a document, append a revision, read the history, render a PDF or DOCX. If your agent is not listed, it can call the API directly with a brand token. See the technical reference.
When a connection fails
denied
Sign-in denied or brand missing. Your account is not an authorised editor on this workspace. Ask the workspace owner or your administrator to add you to the brand allowlist.
401
Token or brand mismatch. The token does not belong to the brand you named. Re-run the token check.
404
Document missing. Also returned by a token check against an unknown brand; read the response body to tell them apart.
409
The document has changed. Your revision was based on an older version. Fetch the latest and reapply.
422
Validation failed. The Markdown or front matter does not fit the template. The response lists the fields.
502
Rendering failed. The PDF service did not return. Retry; if it persists, report the document id.
Before you use your own material
Which document formats fit?
Docgent uses structured Markdown and produces PDF and DOCX. It is not a native Word or Google Docs editing workflow. Check your workspace vocabulary and brand configuration before importing source.
Does the comparison check the facts?
No. The revision diff helps you inspect what changed. You remain responsible for the facts, reasoning and wider implications of the document.
What are the data and retention arrangements?
Review the arrangements for your existing deployment before uploading sensitive material. Public self-service storage, processing, retention and deletion terms will be published before that service opens. No privacy or certification claim is made here.
Where are cancellation and usage terms?
Self-service subscriptions are not on sale. Final usage limits, cancellation, export and retention terms will accompany the purchase journey before it opens.
